It's been awhile since I've had an adventure, and life has gotten crazy with the usual life madness and challenges that come at everyone. At last, a new trip is on the horizon and it couldn't come at a better time.
As it's currently August, the worst part of the year in a southern muggy state that spends the entire month in triple digits, no cooling reprieve in the evening, and a constant army of mosquitos at attention, I'm so ready for a change of scenery.
Luckily in two weeks that will finally be happening. I'm off to Canada, a place I've never been to. I look at the weather forecast daily now, and drool with jealous anticipation of the beautiful 70 degree weather in the heat of summer. Sigh. I can't wait to need a jacket in the evening, feel a cool breeze, and not feel like I'm drowning in humidity the minute I walk out the door. I don't remember what that feels like.
Of course I'm going for a marathon. Because that's just the weird hobbyist I've become. This will be international marathon number 4, overall marathon 6. Never in a million years did I ever plan to do marathons. But I do believe it will be beautiful weather, scenery, and a fun new place to explore. I'm going to Quebec. I've heard nothing but amazing things about this part of Canada, and can't wait to do some exploring on my own.
At last another adventure commences!
